J&K authorities cancel Anantnag Bar Association elections

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have scrapped the District Bar Association elections in Anantnag, citing a 'blatant violation' of rules. The Anantnag district magistrate said the election process had been prohibited under an order dated January 2, 2025, and therefore could not go ahead. The move halts the lawyers' body's attempt to choose new office-bearers.
