Guardian dogs tested to protect Texas' tiny swift fox from coyotes

Texas A&M AgriLife researchers are testing whether livestock guardian dogs paired with cattle on the Rita Blanca National Grasslands can deter coyotes and help the swift fox, Texas' smallest fox, with fewer than 250 believed left statewide. GPS collars track foxes, coyotes and dogs. So far, the rancher involved has lost no calves to predators.
