CBIC issues eight circulars to simplify GST registration and notices

Following the GST Council's latest decisions, the CBIC has issued eight circulars covering simpler registration with a defined document list, export payments and clearer rules for tax demands, including pre-show-cause notices and proving intent of fraud. Tax officers have been told not to seek unwarranted documents or raise presumptive queries unrelated to registration applications.
