Salon.com to shut down after 31 years online

Salon, one of the first online-only news magazines when it launched 31 years ago, said it is ceasing operations. An unsigned post announced the closure of the pioneering digital outlet. Its editorial archive remains live for now, even as the newsroom winds down after more than three decades online.
