Cyclone Arnab lashes north Andhra with heavy rain, one dead

Very heavy rain pounded northern Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday as Arnab strengthened into a very severe cyclonic storm. A 65-year-old man died at Mangalapalem after touching snapped live power lines. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said 290 cyclone shelters were opened and 84,396 people moved to safety, with landfall expected near the Yanam-Kakinada region early on Wednesday.
