ECI tells Supreme Court CEC can be removed only like an SC judge

The Election Commission of India has told the Supreme Court in a roughly 250-page joint affidavit that the Chief Election Commissioner can be removed only in the same manner as a Supreme Court judge. The submission comes amid opposition demands for the CEC's removal and growing political controversy over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
