Volkswagen has temporarily paused development of the electric ID. Golf as it tightens spending amid financial pressure. VW brand CFO David Powels announced the move alongside results for the first nine months, saying work will resume once the necessary investment can be securely accommodated. It is an unusual step for a carmaker that has repeatedly stressed the importance of electrification.
