MeitY launches DEPA handbook for secure AI training data sharing

The Ministry of Electronics and IT has launched a handbook on the Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture (DEPA) for AI training, unveiled by Secretary S. Krishnan in Bengaluru with support from the iSPIRT Foundation. The techno-legal framework lets institutions share data for AI training while retaining control, using contractual permissions, controlled computing environments, privacy safeguards and data provenance tracking.
