Kerala to develop Cochin Cancer Research Centre into centre of excellence

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan said the government will help turn the Cochin Cancer Research Centre into a top treatment and research institution, with a five-year development plan rolled out in phases. Marking the centre's 10th anniversary, he said rising cancer cases need research into causes, and the state is considering low-cost public testing facilities, possibly free for poorer patients.
