DoorDash to buy Instacart in $17 billion deal

DoorDash will acquire grocery delivery firm Instacart for $17 billion, its biggest deal ever, pushing beyond restaurants into retail. Instacart shoppers will be able to buy from 150,000 stores, up from 100,000. DoorDash CEO Tony Xu said Instacart's grocery expertise complements its delivery network. The deal is expected to close by end-2027 or the first half of 2028.
