Applebee's app left database password exposed, risking customer data

Restaurant chain Applebee's has fixed a security flaw that let anyone access personal information of its registered customers. A security researcher found a password for an internal database hardcoded inside the Applebee's mobile app, giving unrestricted access to customer records. The company confirmed it had acted to prevent unauthorised access to the database after being alerted.
