Sensex, Nifty recover early losses to close 0.7% higher
Indian markets reversed early losses on Monday, with the Sensex closing 0.66% up at 73,606.75 and the Nifty 50 ending at 22,753.20, up 0.68%. Both had fallen nearly 1% in early trade on West Asia worries before dip-buying set in. Easing crude, with Brent nearly 2% lower near $115, helped, while metal, telecom and healthcare stocks led gains.
