Fifa to fall short of equal prize money for 2027 Women's World Cup

Fifa will not achieve equal prize money at next year's Women's World Cup, despite earning a record $15bn from this summer's men's tournament. President Gianni Infantino had said in 2023 that equality in prize pots for 2027 was the target. The women's prize money could double, but a large gap with the men's event is expected to remain.
