Centre scraps petrol export levy, hikes duty on diesel and ATF

The Centre has cut the special additional excise duty on petrol exports to nil from ₹2.5 a litre, while raising the levy on diesel exports to ₹11.5 from ₹8.5 and on aviation turbine fuel to ₹11 from ₹10.5, effective October 31. The export levies were introduced on March 27, 2026, amid the West Asia crisis.
