Man detained for flying drone near Mattancherry synagogue, naval base

Mattancherry police detained Ashu Kumar Khanna, 66, an Amritsar native settled in Canada, for flying a drone without permission near the Mattancherry synagogue, Coast Guard premises and the Navy's INS Dronacharya. He was booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Drone Rules and released after a notice. It follows an alleged arson attack on Ernakulam's 800-year-old Kadavumbhagam Synagogue.
