Theft convict escapes police custody again at Coimbatore prison gate

Raghavan, a 25-year-old theft convict, escaped police custody for the second time early on Saturday by pushing his escorts just before entering Coimbatore Central Prison. He had first escaped on June 19 while being taken to Bengaluru and was re-arrested in Bhavani on Friday. Four police personnel have been suspended, and a search using drones and CCTV is under way.
