Andhra civic polls halted amid TDP-YSRCP clashes

Andhra Pradesh's State Election Commission has halted polls in 100 urban local bodies, including 13 municipal corporations, following Supreme Court directions. Clashes between ruling TDP and opposition YSRCP workers erupted near nomination centres, and YSRCP alleges its candidates were stopped from filing papers. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused the YSRCP of trying to disrupt the polls through violence.
