US report says outdated AI let Tinder and Hinge users match with scammers

A US congressional committee report led by Senator Maggie Hassan found that Tinder and Hinge users connected with nearly 1.5 million scammers in the first nine months of 2025. Internal Match Group documents showed its scam-detection machine-learning models had not been updated in years. The report noted Match Group has since added new safeguards, including an AI model on Tinder.
