SC overturns Rajasthan poll body's denial of voter awareness drive

The Supreme Court on Monday set aside the Rajasthan State Election Commission's refusal to let a civil society group run voter awareness campaigns during ongoing local body polls. A bench led by CJI Surya Kant said such efforts should be encouraged, not restricted, and told the SEC to reconsider within 48 hours. Activists Aruna Roy and Nikhil Dey of MKSS had filed the plea.
