Call of Duty to remove Seoul crush footage after families' outrage

Activision will remove real news footage of the 2022 Itaewon crowd crush in Seoul from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 in the game's next update. The clips, which showed stretchers, body bags and resuscitation attempts, were used in an opening scene depicting a fictional North Korean invasion. The disaster killed almost 160 people, and bereaved families said they were appalled.
