Tamil Nadu to set up five jurisdiction-free registration hubs

Tamil Nadu has sanctioned Rs 7.84 crore to set up Model Registration Hubs at five locations as a pilot: Chennai North, Chennai Central, Chennai South, Chengalpattu and Coimbatore. Citizens will be able to register documents and marriages at these hubs regardless of the usual sub-registrar jurisdiction. The scheme is planned to expand to 20 more locations later.
