NFHS-6 drops anaemia data, leaving India without fresh numbers
For the first time since the late 1990s, India's national family health survey has no anaemia estimate. NFHS-6 omitted the section, and readings moved to the SAMPADA survey, whose data is yet to be released. NFHS-5 had found 71.4% of women in West Bengal anaemic, the highest among major states, while nationally 59.1% of adolescent girls were affected against 31.1% of boys.
