Panchayats to host EV charging and battery-swap stations under CESL pact

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Convergence Energy Services Limited have signed an MoU to set up EV charging stations and battery-swapping facilities on Panchayat-owned land, including sites along state and national highways. The plan aims to extend electric mobility beyond cities into rural India while giving Gram Panchayats a new source of revenue and supporting lower carbon emissions.
