World Pasta Day: Mumbai's dedicated pasta bars are booming

Mumbai diners can now go out specifically for pasta, as pasta bars with handmade shapes, carefully crafted sauces and compact menus spread from Bandra to Lower Parel. A 2024 National Restaurant Association of India report found 56% of Mumbaikars who dine out prefer Italian cuisine, ahead of Chinese at 46%. India's pasta market was valued at about $1.2 billion in 2025.
