Four new frog species described from Peru
FIU biologist Alessandro Catenazzi and colleagues have described four new species of Oreobates frogs collected near Peru's Cordillera Azul National Park, raising the genus count from 27 to 31. The team used body features, mating calls and genetic evidence to confirm the frogs were distinct. The research appears in the journal Diversity. Catenazzi has helped describe more than 55 frog species.
