Child's charm necklace and perfume bottle found in sealed Pompeii wardrobe
Archaeologists in Pompeii have found a wooden wardrobe sealed since Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD79, holding tweezers, a glass perfume bottle, an incense burner, a bronze lantern and coins. The highlight is a crepundia, a child's necklace with more than 20 charms depicting deities such as Bes and Mercury. The home stood on Via dell'Abbondanza, one of the city's busiest streets.
