Congress demands arrest of playwright Addanda Cariappa over Gandhi remarks

Congress workers protested at the Bengaluru police commissioner's office on Monday, seeking the arrest of playwright Addanda C. Cariappa over alleged derogatory references to Mahatma Gandhi in his play. KPCC spokesperson M. Lakshman alleged the play portrayed Savarkar and Godse as having secured Independence. Activists had earlier smeared ink on Cariappa's face, and a case was filed against them too.
