Apple's first touchscreen MacBook Pro starts at $2,899, but a fully upgraded 16-inch model with the M5 Max chip tops out around $14,549, about $4,400 more than the previous ceiling. A 16TB SSD alone adds $7,000 and 128GB of memory another $2,000, with memory shortages adding pricing pressure. Preorders open October 30, with availability from November 6.
