VW's first Xpeng-built EV struggles to sell in China

Volkswagen's ID. Unyx 08, co-developed with Xpeng and built at its Anhui plant, has sold only about 267 units a month through August, far below an internal target of 3,622, according to a Reuters report. The midsize EV faces tough rivals in Xiaomi's YU7 and Zeekr's 7X. VW has cut its price to about $28,500 and is expanding dealerships.
