Mirabai Chanu moves up to 53kg for World Weightlifting Championships

Olympic medallist Mirabai Chanu, fresh from an Asian Games silver in 49kg, will compete in the 53kg class at the World Championships in Ningbo, China, on Thursday. The switch follows 53kg becoming the lightest women's category for the LA 2028 Olympics. Coach Vijay Sharma said the event is a test, with Olympic qualification the target.
