Biren Singh says state BJP leaders plotted his ouster with Congress

Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has accused sections of the state BJP of conspiring with the Congress to force him out, leading to his resignation in February 2025. Pointing to continued violence involving Meitei, Kuki and Naga communities, he questioned claims that his exit would bring peace. Manipur is due to hold elections early next year.
