Ex-bureaucrat challenges large CAPF deployment in Delhi during protests

Former civil servant Ashish Joshi has filed a PIL in the Delhi High Court against the large-scale deployment of Central Armed Police Forces in the capital during protests. He seeks a declaration that such deployment alone does not authorise dispersing peaceful gatherings, detaining protesters or using force. Citing reports, he said 270 companies have been extended until November 16.
