Railway Board clears Kapurthala-built Vande Bharat for 160 kmph

The Railway Board has approved a 16-car Alstom-powered Vande Bharat chair car trainset built at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, for speeds up to 160 kmph, subject to safety and operational conditions. The clearance follows recommendations from RDSO and the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety, and the train must run on tracks meeting IRPWM 2024 standards.
