Sensex, Nifty edge up as IT stocks and Trent lead gains

Sensex and Nifty extended their rally in early trade on Friday on buying in IT stocks. The Sensex rose 138.77 points to 74,289.81 and the Nifty gained 38.95 points to 22,967.10. Trent jumped 6% after the Tata Group retailer reported a 25% rise in September-quarter net profit to ₹468 crore. InterGlobe Aviation, Infosys, TCS and HCL Tech were also among gainers.
