Chhattisgarh to scale down security of 116 Bastar leaders as Maoist violence ebbs

Chhattisgarh will downgrade security for 116 political leaders and public representatives in Bastar, citing a sharp fall in Maoist violence, deputy CM and home minister Vijay Sharma said. After a six-month review, Z+ protectees move to Z, Z to Y+, and Y+ to Y. Another round of reductions will follow after a further review in six months.
