Singer-turned-minister Indranil Sen arrested in Kolkata extortion case

Kolkata Police arrested 61-year-old Indranil Sen, a popular Bengali singer who served as Minister of State for Tourism, Information and Cultural Affairs in the previous Mamata Banerjee government. The arrest came shortly after Enforcement Directorate officers questioned him in a money laundering case. It relates to a June 8 complaint alleging a multi-crore extortion scheme around Durga Puja preview shows.
