Mali raises death toll from northeastern attack to 54

Mali's armed forces have raised the death toll from last weekend's attack in the country's northeast to 54. The military said the victims were buried at the site and nine survivors were evacuated to the city of Menaka. The attack has been linked to claims of Islamic State Sahel involvement, and security operations in the region are continuing.
