Gadkari asks officials to allow 20% speed margin before expressway challans

Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari has instructed officials not to issue speeding notices on expressways for speeds up to 120 kmph, and to allow a further 20% margin above that. Speaking at a CII highways conference, he also warned contractors of blacklisting and penalties for poor road quality, saying every pothole will be accounted for, and urged the public to flag defects on social media.
