First batch of 18,300 Agniveers to exit service by December 31

The first batch of 18,300 Agniveers will leave the armed forces by December 31, 2026, after completing their four-year tenure under the Agnipath scheme, with releases starting in phases from mid-November. Those exiting get 50% reservation in CAPF and Assam Rifles constable posts, exemption from written and physical tests, and quotas in state police and Railways.
