Mumbai Police sets up SIT to probe Jarange's ₹500 crore claim

Mumbai Police on Monday formed a three-member SIT to probe Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil's allegation that the BJP gave ₹500 crore to Eknath Shinde to pass on to him to 'manage' the Maratha agitation. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking an Enforcement Directorate probe. The claim has strained ties between alliance partners.
