Artemis I data shows Moon radiation higher than Earth orbit, but less than feared
Preliminary data from NASA's uncrewed Artemis I mission shows cosmic radiation near the Moon is higher than in low Earth orbit, though not by as much as expected. Orion carried over 10,000 tiny crystals inside two mannequins in 2022, including experimental lithium fluoride detectors from the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Kraków. The findings appear in the journal Radiation Measurements.
