BYD's flagship luxury EV may debut coach doors and solid-state battery

BYD is preparing to unveil its largest and most luxurious electric sedan next week, which could bring two firsts for the Chinese carmaker: Rolls-Royce-style coach doors and solid-state batteries. Known for low-cost EVs like the sub-$10,000 Seagull hatchback, BYD has rapidly expanded into SUVs, pickups and supercars through sub-brands such as Denza, FangChengBao and Yangwang.
